The MALDI imaging services will be discontinued as of January 31, 2025. 

 

MALDI imaging of tissue lipids, peptides, and metabolites service

Our Core provides powerful new technologies for mass spectrometric imaging of biological samples and high throughput metabolomics. The core provides opportunities for adopting emerging methods and developing entirely novel ones. For tissue section and mounting guide and general considerations, please visit the external ABAC Website. Our service includes matrix application, data acquisition, annotation and ion images (all services are not provided separately). Service fee is charged based on data acquisition time per slide, please see the table below.

High Resolution MALDI/ESI-FTICR Service  

Our core also provide high resolution mass spectrometry services for small molecules with MALDI or ESI source. Service fee is charged based on per sample with one ionization mode. Please see the table below.

Service Request Workflow

  1. Create a service request on iLab
  2. Get a quote from the core (final payment may be different in MALDI imaging due to the actual data acquisition time)
  3. Approve the cost in iLab
  4. Financial approval in iLab by PI or a designated financial admin / lab manager
  5. Drop off samples to the core (after finacial approval only, by email appointment, see instruction below)
  6. Sample analysis by the core
  7. Receive analysis results
  8. Receive invoices
  9. Payment (external users pay with PO; internal users with WCM funds)

Note: All service requests are done via the online iLab system. An iLab account is needed for sample submissions. Please transfer your slides in dry ice and clearly label your name/slide number for MALDI experiment.
